2015-09- Amels 188-bigAt the Monaco Yacht Show Dutch shipyard Amels revealed designs for the latest Limited Editions superyacht: the Amels 188. The ethos behind the Limited Editions is a concept of a lively luxury enhancing enjoyment and excitement of life on board: along with a quarter of a century of ship-building, Amels keep on creating improved yachts to reach their ideal of luxury.
Amels 188 is the first one of her kind to feature Amels hybrid switchboard and Amels waste heat recovery. She measures 57.70m with a gross tonnage of 970 and is able to carry a limo tender of up to 7 metres in addition to a 6.20 metre tender. An optional touch-and-go helipad may be added upon request of the owner. Her performance, a top speed of 15.5 knots, and a cruising speed of 13 knots, gives her a transatlantic range of 4,500 nm.
The overall design of the vessel is by Tim Heywood, who created a superyacht with athletic lines and evergreen style, while Reymond Langton was in charge for her interiors.
Ample outdoor spaces spread over four guest decks, with a 17.6 sqm swimming platform with an underwater body design and large transom door, a 22 m sun deck featuring a five person Jacuzzi and a 40 sqm sun deck sky lounge with a large bar area, all sun decks fully customizable by the owners.
As for the interiors, among the Owner’s suite, a VIP suite located on the bridge deck, and four spacious guest cabins on the lower deck, the vessel accommodates on board up to twelve guests. The full beam owner’s suite, covering around 80 sqm, is located on the main deck and boasts a large folding balcony and full height windows, which provide the space with plenty of natural light and create an organic connection with the outdoors. The en suite bathroom uses onyx and mirrors to convey a light and serene atmosphere. Her living areas are large and luxurious, featuring a wellness centre which includes a gym, a sauna and Turkish steam shower. Her main deck saloon features an opulent dining table to seat 12 as well as sliding glass doors that open to the aft deck.
