Genesi launchLast week Wider Yachts has launched their first 150 superyacht Genesi at their headquarters in Ancona, Italy.
The Italian shipyard’s largest yacht to date is finished in a glistening coat of white paint, all interior areas have been completely outfitted, and the yacht is now ready to start seatrials.
“It is enormously satisfying to see Genesi in the water for the first time, but now we have the important task of checking that everything is working to the same high standards that we have set ourselves in every other aspect of the construction process.” said Tilli Antonelli, Wider Founder and CEO.”We will make sure that she is 110% finished before unveiling her in full to the market.”
Genesi is the result of two years of design and construction work by Wider Yachts: as all other yachts from the company, the new Wider 150 boasts the renowed Fulvio de Simoni’s design, offering generous living spaces and a wide range of facilities and amenities.
Genesi features an innovative diesel electric propulsion system, already proven very efficient in its previously exclusive military use, which was developed by Emerson Automation.
Genesi is expected to offer a range of 3,000 nm while cruising at 13 knots. That number is increased to 4,200 nm when a speed of 11 knots is maintained. A maximum speed of 15 knots is available, and the yacht can steam at 5 knots using her batteries in zero emission mode alone.
