Sea Eagle, Royal Huisman’s latest 43m sailing yacht

seaeagleDutch-based shipyard Royal Huisman unveiled their most recent sailing yacht, the 43m Sea Eagle, at the last edition of Monaco Yacht Show. Sea Eagle, featuring naval architecture by German Frers and interior design by Rhoades Young, has been designed and engineered to long distances cruise and to compete in the occasional superyacht regatta, to respond to her owner’s wishes.
Sea Eagle is finished in a ‘Chevy White’ superstructure and dark blue hull. The hull and her 57m high mast and carbon rig have been optimised for performance oriented cruising. Her 1000 sqm of standing sail, a draft of 4.5 metres and displacement of 200 tons allow the vessel to reach a hull speed of 15 knots.
Set up for family cruising, Sea Eagle’s cockpit includes an ample dining and lounge area offering wide views over the ongoing deck operations, while retaining a social atmosphere among the different relaxation areas. A private cockpit is situated aft of the twin helm stations leading down into the full-beam master suite. From the main cockpit owners and guests can reach the glass-bordered, flooded with light main salon, with stair leading aft to two further twin guest cabins. A staircase forward of the main deck salon gives way to a cosy vestibule with three doorways, leading respectively to the day bathroom, to the starboard side gym/VIP cabin, and to the crew area and port side engine control room. This last room is the ship’s office, allowing the crew access to the engine room without intrusion to the guest areas. A staircase from the crew quarters ascends directly to the foredeck and garage housing the crew tender.
One of the most notable features of Sea Eagle is indeed the beach deck in the stern. The transom hydraulically opens up to reveal a large swim platform with a staircase that closes the space again once the tender has been launched. Easy access for tender boarding is thus provided, as well as an ideal hangout spot during water sport days at anchor.
Sea Eagle’s interior is as much impressive as the overall design, where French walnut and white oak floors, upholstered wall panels and birch wood accents, provide a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
