Kraken, ‘monster of the seas’: a 75m yacht concept by Grey Design

krakenThe ‘Kraken’ is the latest yacht concept unveiled last week by Swedish-based Grey Design studio.
This true ‘monster of the seas’ explores with her futuristic lines the limits of yacht design. Taking its inspiration from a Grey Design’s previous speed car concept, the vessel creates together with the Vapour GT a matching set of extreme vehicles for land and sea.
The metallic paintwork is highlighted by intense red details, chrome brightwork and dark stained teak decking, which altogether give the vessel an aggressive and forward looking appearance.
The yacht is laid out as a catamaran with four decks. As for her layout, each deck includes an accommodation, the aft features a large beach club and reception area and an ample space dedicated to a helipad is located in the bow.
Visibility has been smartly designed: the wildly raked windscreen Is actually a skylight for a large indoor lounge on the owner’s deck, while the pilot house is raised to give excellent 360° panoramic visibility. The Kraken has been designed to be able to travel at a top speed of 35 knots.
