Pachamama and OnlyOne: two megayachts for a relaunch

1Baglietto, the historic La Spezia yard today part of the Gavio Group, made a big show at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8-13 and from 23rd to 26th September at the Monaco Yacht Show with two new projects by the architect Francesco Paszkowski.

The two projects presented during these shows marked a very important step for the yard. OnlyOne is a 46 m displacement megayacht, while Fast Pachamama is a another big yacht (43 m) with a sporty character and a dynamic style, presented as a world preview and inaugurating the new range of planing yachts in aluminium of the Gavio era.
Baglietto‘s presence at the boat shows was also enriched by prestige Made in Italy brands that share with the La Spezia brand the same values of tradition, modernity and quality, with advanced technologies alongside high craftsmanship.
On board the Baglietto yachts were accessories by Corneliani, leader in the top quality men’s clothing sector, which created the cupboards in the cabins of Pachamama and made the sunbathing area extremely comfortable. Another partner of great prestige was the historic Maison Buccellati, one of the most famous high-class jewellery brands in the world, known above all for its use of rare stones with exceptional colours and for its engraving techniques which go back to the ancient traditions of the Italian Renaissance Goldsmiths.

Baglietto, a historic La Spezia yard
The La Spezia yard will continue the boat show season at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (November 5-9) in the Sybass, Superyacht Business Association area. The Baglietto yard, after a very difficult period as is generally known, is now breathing fresh air and at last we can say the worst is over. Today, with this new life, the yard is once more animated by the spirit it always had since it was founded, when its founder decided to start building small boats in the garden of his home in 1854. Since then the brand has often been a synonym for innovation, authentic creative spirit and technical genius, research and development.
The recent plans for the relaunch of the historic company by the Gavio Group, which acquired it in 2012, aim to reaffirm the leadership of Baglietto, putting it back among the leading yards at international level as the pride of Italian yachting. To this end investments have been made to expand the infrastructures of the yard, in particular by making good the entire production site which today covers 35,000 m², building two sheds to build yachts of up to 65 m under cover and quays equipped to host yachts of up to 70 m. A project of enormous importance that took two years of work and is now near to completion. At the same time production in the yard was restarted at full capacity: Baglietto today has 50 employees and uses about 200 external craftsmen. Currently six yachts are being built in the yard: various hulls are being produced: a 55 m displacement, to yachts of 43 and 46 m, a 54 meter and a new 48 m displacement. The style and engineering of the projects is being developed by the Paszkowski studio and the yard’s design office.

Italian style, Design and Innovation
The two mega yachts presented by the yard represent and symbolise an important step; a great effort that the entire Baglietto team is making in this historic moment for the company. Today there is great euphoria for the intense design activity on new models that will form the basis for the development and future consolidation of the group. Each of these projects begins from the conceptual styles that have always marked the yard and in the past have characterised its successful yachts, but style evolves and looks forward, without ever abandoning the marine characteristics of solidity, reliability and safety that have always been typical of Baglietto yachts.
But Baglietto is more than this, in line with the latest trends, alongside design activity the company is also working on refitting and reconstruction at the highest levels and, in the near future, will be involved in military construction, an ancient tradition of the brand of the “Gabbiano”.

OnlyOne 46 mt
OnlyOne is a 46 m displacement megayacht designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design both in its exterior lines and it interiors, the latter in collaboration with architect Margherita Casprini. Project management was followed by Yerin Hobson of Arrow Services, Monaco. Classic and slightly retro flavours characterised this displacement megayacht in steel and aluminium. The interiors have a unique and very relaxing atmosphere, thanks to the careful choice of prized materials, woods with diamond mirrors produced with traditional techniques. The same techniques also characterise the sanded oak pavements, where planks alternate with square shapes to recreate the typical geometry of rustic flooring of olden times. The wood on the walls on the main deck and upper deck are mostly clad in polished rosewood and the ceilings in fabric. The forward walls and the master cabin have inserts of Jerusalem Stone, which is also used in the bathrooms, all in polished rosewood. Retro taste also for the fantasies of the fabrics and the style of padded sofas and armchairs, whose wooden structure is on view. The colours are neutral and delicate, in tones of ochre and gold.
The yacht has a classic layout: four cabins on the lower deck, two VIP in two guest cabins with single beds and a pullman bed, and the master cabin across the full beam on the main deck, with two separate his/hers bathrooms. In the centre a large square stairway that unites the three decks. The main deck, which in the entrance has a relaxation area with a structural sofa and seats, gives access to a single environment that includes a large conversation area furnished with comfortable sofas and the dining room. Above the large dining table is a chandelier in Swarovski crystals that increases the luminosity of the environment. The skylounge on the upper deck is occupied by a cinema room, while in the exterior a large round table defines a perfect space for dining in company.
The sun deck is very large and is on a deck designed for socialising and open-air activities: about 90 m² at the stern offer a spacious sunbathing area with sun beds and sofas while, in the shadow of the rollbar, the dining area is directly connected to the galley by a dumb waiter. Plenty of spaces dedicated to the eight crew members, housed in four cabins forward on the lower deck: here there are also a small dinette and the laundry. A second, larger dinette is found on the main deck, next to the large galley equipped for gourmet cooking.
The spaces astern are enriched by a beach area fitted out as a gym.
OnlyOne has two Caterpillar 3512B engines that give a maximum speed of about 17 kn and a cruising speed of 12 kn with a range of 4500 miles.

Pachamama 43 m
This 43 m motoryacht has plenty of space and plenty of lighting. This model inaugurates the new FAST range models designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design which handle both the exteriors and the interiors, in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. Baglietto handled all the engineering. This project is very important because it is the 1st to be designed entirely by the “new Baglietto”. It has a layout with five cabins, all below decks. The master cabin covers the entire beam and is at the stern, with plenty of room and large windows. The atmosphere is soft and elegant also in the guest cabins, which include a VIP cabin with a double bed and three cabins with single beds. Natural teak and the claddings generate a “chessboard effect) both vertically and horizontally, alternating with the polished lacquer of the walls and ceilings. The inserts of Moor’s head leather and the stitching along the sides make the cladding even more luxurious. All furnishings have soft, rounded shapes that add softness to the environments. The main deck is entirely dedicated to socialising. Astern the cockpit has a conversation area with an innovative system of curtains that makes it possible to close off the area for shade and privacy. Entering is the bar area and to port a day bathroom unites the interior and exterior.
Separated from the central technical block, the full beam dining room is conceived as a single area, thanks also to the visual continuity of materials between the galley and dinette. A mobile partition makes it possible to modulate the space, either dividing the two areas or creating a more informal and sociable open space. On the same deck, the exterior at the bow is a large living area: here there is a spectacular panoramic sunbathing area and, at the end, a heated hydro massage bath. The flying bridge of about 75 m² offers a comfortable area astern, a central conversation area and a dining area in the shade of the mast. Noteworthy and absolutely innovative is the helm inspired by racing cars which is very captivating and exciting.
