Asia Superyacht Rendezvous at its 15th edition

Thailand_Phuket_Kata_BeachesThe Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will once again celebrate luxury yachting in the Andaman Sea’s waters in Kata Bay, Phuket, Thailandia, from December 16th to 18th.
Held annually on this time of the year, the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is an exclusive rendezvous for motor and sailing yachts over 100 feet, and it is now at its 15th edition. Sponsored by Feadship and Asia Pacific Superyachts, the event is held at award-winning Kata Rocks, winner of 16 International property awards including “Best Apartment in the World”.
The event brings together owners and crew of both motor and sailing yachts for a fun gathering in the busy Christmas period, while promoting Phuket as a yacht industry hub for the best interests of the local community.
“A luxury yacht hub is one of the many industry spokes connected to the wheels of regional economic development that can propel a country to further success and offer opportunities to its citizens,” Andrew Davies, event and business development manager for Asia Superyacht Rendezvous.  “We need to expand the yacht market here in Phuket and ensure it remains a sustainable sector with consistent residual growth, and the only way to do that is administrative consistency, cooperation and long-term projected thinking by all parties concerned – particularly by the key decision makers.”
The Rendezvous aims to assist in making luxury yacht visits to Phuket stress free, transparent and administratively consistent, so that the sailing community considers Phuket as a long-term base and viable alternative to other locations. The proposed new charter licence is a pivotal factor in the potential growth of the yacht industry in Phuket.
Offering a busy schedule of 2 days of racing – including the ‘Feadship Challenge – and laid-back social events, this December’s Asia Superyacht Rendezvous 2015’s oceanfront display is expected to feature one of the most impressive line-ups to date.
Attendance has been confirmed by sailing yachts Lamima, Sunshine, Aventure, and Lady Thuraya, and motor yachts  Samax,  Vie San Soucis, Bliss, After 8 and Antares.
“The chartering potential here is enormous. With the diversity of the cruising grounds, steady and relatively calm weather patterns and stunning natural scenery, Phuket is a charter client’s dream,” said Captain Will Bagshaw of M/Y Titania who attended the Rendezvous in 2014.
The show is one of the top yachting events in Asia, providing a prime opportunity for yacht owners to network or for charterers to build a Thailand superyacht charter vacation itinerary around.
