A new line of high performance cruising catamarans by McConaghy and Ker Yacht Design

highperformancecruisingcatamaranMcConaghy Boats have released their new line of sailing catamarans at the opening of Boot Dusseldorf 2016 on January 23rd.
After a long-lasting collaboration on racing and cruising yacht projects, McConaghy and Ker Yacht Design have once again worked together on a new line, whose first yachts to be release will be 50’, 60’ and 90’ high performance cruising catamarans.
The series has been conceived to maximise performance, safety and comfort in all possible navigating conditions, without compromising aesthetic needs for stylish and elegant vessels: an open plan layout will also allow for versatile configurations and an high level of customization by future owners.
The boats have been designed by sailors for a target of established catamaran sailors whishing for the best, including comfort, higher volume and speeds.

McConaghy Boats
McConaghy’s is an international company with certified expertise in lightweight, high strength, composite construction. Thanks to a in-house research started soon after its foundation, McConaghy Boats have been engineering and perfecting the vacuum formed foam sandwich, fibreglass/Kevlar construction method to provide the maritime industry and others with lightweight composite solutions. The company thus focuses in the design, engineering and production of high performance vessels and systems to be applied both in world renowned races and in luxury yachts.

Ker Yacht Design
Ker Yacht Design is a leader in multihull design and has an international reputation for their experience in race-course designs. Thanks to its technical approach, its seek for innovative technologies, and its team composed by experienced and passionate sailors, the studio develops a diverse range of projects, from America’s Cup racing yachts to luxury crusing yachts. Since 2003, Ker Yacht Design has been involved with the Americas Cup, which makes it one of the most competent studios in the design of high-performance yachts.
