Ferretti Yachts unveiled its latest 850 yacht project

Ferretti-Yachts-850-6The new Ferretti Yachts’ project 850 was revealed at last BOOT 2016 in Dusseldorf, Germany and it is expected to make its world debut at next edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
The vessel was designed in partnership with Studio Zuccon International and is now under construction at its facility  in Cattolica, Italy. The new design took inspiration from its successful 80 footer, and it boasts a harmonious combination of performance, elegance and spaciousness.
A remarkable feature differing for the previous 80 footer is the windows (a single glazed window running the full length of the superstructure) with integrated portholes, designed to flood the interior with natural light and to provide stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The same window configuration will be used as a new design feature to provide a difference between the sub 80-foot range and bigger vessels.
The luxurious saloon and dining area accessible through the sliding door has a residential feel. Two layout options are offered for the galley. In the forward configuration, the galley is in front of the helm station and lobby and separated from the guest area, with a dinette. In the other layout option, the galley is on the port side, towards the saloon, including a cocktail bar looking at the sea.
Below deck there is an ample master suite that features, alongside a bed, a study area, a wardrobe and various storage compartments. Two more spacious VIP double cabins and a standard cabin fitted with twin beds will accommodate the owner’s guests. The crew quarters are located in the bow.
As for outdoor spaces, the flybridge, with an optional hardtop, will sit over the raised pilothouse and has a sundeck and a cocktail bar. Another outdoor lounge is located on the foredeck.
The fold down transom door is another innovative feature: it can be lowered into the water, along with the swim platform, and be converted into a large submersible platform.
The cockpit is fitted out with a multi-purpose sofa and seating around a large outdoor table and it provides access to the swim platform.
The garage is also accessible from the fold down transom doors. It has room enough to store a tender up to 3.8 m (the vessel’s garage was actually designed for the Williams Turbo Jet 385 tender). There is also the option of a fitting a davit and crane on the flybridge, if the owners plan to use the garage for other purposes or prefer their tender to be kept on deck.
The Ferretti 850 will be powered by MAN engines with two options: twin V12 1800hp engines allowing for a cruising speed of 26 knots and top speed of 29 knots, or the 1900hp configuration that will allow for 1 knot more to the cruising speed and 2 knots to its top speed.
