NauticSud opened its doors again for its 43rd edition

nauticsud-2015-640x256On Saturday morning, after a four-year break, NauticSud the International Nautical Show in Naples opened its doors again at the Mostra d’Oltremare. The ribbon was cut by the President of Region Campania Vincenzo de Luca and the Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris.
The ten days of the show will explore all themes related to the economy of the sea, which is considered by the European Union one of the motors for the development of entrepreneurship. The 43rd edition of NauticSud is meant to be a new starting point for the entire sector, showcasing the current phase of the market and industry, but also looking forward to possible future strategies for the economic evolutions and their eventual social effects for the nautical businesses.
Shipyards, nautical operators, training institutions, research centres, touristic ports or protected areas, sailing clubs and other maritime sports clubs, related associations, will all be represented at the show. In particular, the organisation of the event has been planned in partnership with ANRC (Associazione Nautica Regione Campania) and Federazione Italiana Vela-V-zona, the Italian Sailing Federation. In more than 120 expositors with 250 boats on display are taking part in the event, and the attendance to the show is expected to reach 50 thousand presences.
“We worked intensely- explained Giuseppe Oliviero, Managing Director of Mostra d’Oltremare- during the past months to revive NauticSud, which will welcome the Neapolitans to show them the jewels of the Italian nautical industry and all the related labour market. For ten days, Mostra d’Oltremare will host thousands of people, helping to restart a sector which is going out of the crisis and which is very important in a maritime city like Naples. It’s exactly this one of the primary aims of Mostra d’Oltremare, to give its contribution with its energies and spaces to the growth of the economic fabric of Naples and Campania”.
“The relaunch of Mostra d’Oltremare’s historic brands was one of the objectives since our first settlement – explained Oliviero – Naples is back in the centre of the Italian nautical industry with a more and more international connotation, looking to the Mediterranean and beyond.”
The President of Region Campania, Vincenzo de Luca, added: “The Region is engaged in a great funding programme to the whole Mostra d’Oltremare complex, also in the valorisation of shipyards after years of great sufferance as a result of the unfortunate choices of the Monti government.”
“Naples is becoming more and more attractive for all kinds of enterprise – said Luigi de Magistris – also thanks to the relaunch we strongly wanted of the western area with Mostra d’Oltremare, Edenlandia and the zoo. NauticSud is part of the history of the city and it is a good thing that it is back and that it won’t go away anymore.”
The show will be open every day until March 6th, from 10.30 to 20.30.
