UCINA’s President Carla Demaria awarded “Personality of the Year” at the Asia Boating Awards

carla-demaria-ucinaUCINA Confindustria Nautica’s President Carla Demaria was awarded the prestigious prize “Personality of the Year” a the 12th edition of the Asia Boating Awards which took place in Singapore last Thursday during the Singapore Yacht Show.
The Jury recognized the exceptional contribution Carla Demaria gave to the nautical industry in the world, enhancing, with her commitment in the promotion and the safeguard f the sector, also the development of the nautical industry in Asia.
“I am honoured to receive such a prestigious prize” – commented UCINA’s President – “awarded to personalities who have worked and are still working for the growth of the leisure boating industry in the world. I am grateful also in quality of President of UCINA and of all the enterprises I am honoured to represent as head of the historical Association of the Italian nautical industry”.
Carla Demaria was born in Turin, she gained her experience in Italy and she is one of the main managers in the global nautical industry. Nowadays President of Monte Carlo Yachts, a company whose income is more than 50 million euro and whose direct employees in Italy are more than 300, she is also President of Beneteau Italia as well as General Manager for the brand Beneteau.
She has been working for twenty years in the Azimut Benetti Group, in positions of ever growing responsibility: Sales Manager in 1988, Sales and Marketing Director in 1990, member of the Steering Committee since 1996 and Manager of the Azimut Capital in 2000. In 2002 she became President and CEO of Atlantis Spa (once called Gobbi).
In 2008 she left the Azimut Benetti Group to found the new company Monte Carlo Yachts in partnership with the Beneteau Group: such new company is aimed to create high-end yachts in Italy featuring the world renowned Italian design. Member of UCINA’s Board since 2016, she has been the Association’s President since March 2015.
