Sun Catcher, a 60-metre ‘sunflower’ superyacht concept by Max Zhivov

Sun-CatcherA yacht catching sustainable energy just like a sunflower: here is one of the latest concepts by Russian designer Max Zhivov. Inspired by the movement of a flower as it turns to catch the rays of the sun, the main focus in the superyacht’s design is sustainability and energy saving.
The upper roof is equipped with transforming parts with solar panels. Smart technology ensures that the solar panels on board are used as effectively as possible: when at anchor, they transform to catch as much sun light as possible; while underway, they lay down vertically not to interfere with the overall aerodynamics of the vessel.
A large master suite and five guest cabins provide accommodation for up to 12 guests, and a crew of 12 is also accommodated for on board. Cruising speed is expected to be of 18 knots.
