The upcoming 56th edition of the Genoa Boat Show

The 56th Genoa Boat Show will be taking place on September 20th-25th as scheduled, and, despite the recent split between Nautica Italiana and Confindustria, it promises to be even more successful than its previous editions.
Giovanni Toti invited to “reconnect the threads of the dialogue, because we are not going to allow to anybody to hinder the Boat Show which is in Genoa and Liguria.” The Region Liguria and the Municipality of Genoa released a memo together, signed by Toti and Doria, Major of the City of Genoa: “The Region and the Municipality are determined to confirm and to enhance Genoa as location for the promotion of the nautical industry in our country.”
Nowadays there are all the best conditions for a restart of the industry, with an expected growth of the nautical turnover of 7,5 % in 2016, a growth in the first half of the year of 44% in number of signed contracts in leasing and of 26% in average value. The positive trend is confirmed by the fact that some of the most historic Italian brands are coming back to attend this year’s Genoa Boat Show, and many other foreign shipbuilders are willing to take part in the show as well. The entries in the 56th edition of the Show continue to increase, +21% compared with the same date last year, both in terms of exhibitors and the range on show, with 57% of exhibitors increasing their investment.
Some of the expected attendances to the Genoa international event include Azimut-Benetti, Cantieri di Pisa (who are part of Mondomarine Group), Perini, Tecnopool, Viareggio Superyacht, Vismara Mare, Princess Yachts, Canados, Chantier Amel, Fjord, Gagliotta, Innovazione e Progetti, Najad, Rodman, Sealine, 3B Craft, Tornado Yachts, Cantiere Crachi. And, for the first time, there will also be the Florida Yacht Broker Association, which represents 1200 buyers of the liveliest market in the world.
The Jean Nouvel pavilion will host a both real and interactive promenade to discover motoryachts ranging up to 12 metres; there will be 16% more medium-size boats; the sailing yacht exhibition area will be 5% bigger and the dockyard will be dedicated to catamarans, most appreciated by families, which are displayed in some dedicated shows abroad.
One hundred twenty collateral events will be accompanying the new Boat Show, which is also a partner of Roma2024, the initiative born to support Rome as location for the next Olympic Games in 2024.
