The Boat Market Show Sardinia in Golfo Aranci

boat-market-show-sardiniaThe Boat Market Show Sardinia, a new event wanted by the local institutions and by the associations for the local nautical industry was held in Golfo Aranci from August 25th to 28th: the event was successful and a second edition is already being considered.
The event has been organized by Giuseppe Fasolino’s local administration, and it had three main objectives: to enhance the nautical market, which is crucial for the local economy; to bring more people to Golfo Aranci with a strategy based on events, and to show the newly restored marina, offering 130 more moorings.
Prior to the organization of the Boat Market Show, the local administration undertook several urban development works to improve the identity of Golfo Aranci : the entire waterfront has been regenerated, as well as the touristic offer, with high quality hotels, restaurants and tourism-related services. Those transformations created a place which is no longer a port where to just pass by when arrived to the island from the continent, but a real and appealing destination for tourism, holidays or summer evenings.
Events such as the Boat Market Show Sardinia are not only intended to enliven the boating market, but also to create the occasion to attract people (from Sardinia as well as international tourists) and to make them appreciate how the place has changed. Golfo Aranci is nowadays a place daily attended by families with children, where to walk along a wonderful waterfront and to enjoy a stunning panorama.
The event is to be considered as part of a long activity aimed to relanch the Region of Sardinia, which has been able to reinvent itself upon the local economy and the welfare of its inhabitants and its loyal tourists.
The attendances and selling of local boats have been quite satisfying, a sign that the market is willing to start and move again and it is already underway, according to Lamberto Tacoli, Nautica Italiana’s president – who spent his summer in Sardinia and came to meet his friend Giuseppe Fasolino.
Lamberto Tacoli commented that Sardinia benefitted from the crisis of other Mediterranean locations: the strategy, however is working, and tourism and the nautical industry should be addressed together in order to enhance the local economy.
