heesen-dry-dockHeesen Yachts announced at the Monaco Yacht Show that a new 85-metre dry dock and a large 90-metre construction hall have been completed at their facilities in Oss, the Netherlands.
Not only are those new working spaces equipped with advanced features to create the best working environment (controlled temperature and humidity, heated floor, automatic sun-tracker lights), they are a clear declaration of intents: such spaces will serve to build even larger superyachts to respond to the market needs.
“The new 85-metre dry dock is our investment in the future and our response to the market request for bigger yachts,” states the Heesen board of directors. “The success of the 65-metre FDHF Galactica Star and the 70-metre Galactica Super Nova – our largest yacht to date – has created a lot of interest from loyal clients, as well as from owners who are new to the Heesen brand. We are now ready to further expand the size of our yachts up to 80 metres and look forward to showing the world the next generation of Heesen: bigger and even greater superyachts!”
Heesen will also showcase a new Virtual Reality tour on board Galactica Super Nova.  Maarten Touw of Kijkeens Binnen, 360 Virtual Reality Yachts, has this to say: “360 Virtual Yachts has created a Virtual Reality tour For Heesen’s Galactica Super Nova, so everyone can enjoy the experience of being on their superyacht anywhere, anytime. Virtual Reality is a great tool to show case a superyacht. We use authentic images of the superyacht, so it feels like you’re actually standing on board of the Galactica Super Nova. This provides a unique experience that can’t be matched by any 3D model.”
“Heesen and Van Berge Henegouwen worked together to create multifunctional spaces that can quickly be reconfigured according to the time of day and planned entertainments. 360 Virtual Yachts and Van Berge Henegouwen worked hand-in-hand to perfectly visualise these multifunctional spaces in the Virtual Reality experience. We’ve captured over 1,200 images in High Dynamic Range (HDR) to create 14 panoramas of the yacht, some of which will allow you to switch between day and night mode. In this way your perceptions of reality will be challenged under the stars. This Virtual Tour will be available on www.360virtualyachts.com.”
