Sailing to Rome, a five-day International Fair on the Sea Economy

sailing-to-romeAfter many years, Fiumicino is going to host again the best of the Italian nautical industry in a 5-day international fair on the economy of the sea: Sailing to Rome will take place this week from October 12th to 16th in about 6000 sqm on land and 12000 sqm on the water at the port dockyard.
An ideal showcase for the excellences of the Made in Italy and for the production of Region Lazio, it has been financed by the Region itself and by Lazio Innova, and it has been organised by the association Fedex with the support of the Municipality of Fiumicino and the Port Authority of Rome and Lazio.
The protagonists of the International Fair will cover four main themes: shipbuilding, with storage facilities and recreational boating; refitting, sale and rental of new or second-hand boats; yacht charter, wares and passengers movement; touristic ports. Moreover, there will also be space for regulations and environmental protection, for the fishing industry, the sector of the touristic infrastructure including seaside resorts, and handicraft. High-end industry, innovation, creativity and maritime sports will also be showcased in Fiumicino. The Insean, the CNR’s research centre on naval engineering, and the Italian Sailing Federation.
The fair is meant to be a starting point for the relaunch of the sector and a unique occasion for the nautical entrepreneurship: the nautical industry in Italy and in Lazio features plenty of entrepreneurial activities which can represent and promote the excellence of the Made in Italy in the world. The aim is to enhance collaboration among small and big companies in Italy as well as with foreign companies, to support the unique balance of advanced technology and great care for details which have made the Made in Italy so famous all over the world.
