Ferretti Yachts 850: a flybridge yacht combining luxury, power and elegance

ferretti-yachts-850Ferretti Yachts 850 impresses from the first sight, thanks to her clean and dynamic profile featuring striking, clear-cut angles which makes her look bold and seductive. This remarkable yacht combines extraordinary comfort with sophisticated design, and she is the result of joint efforts of the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee, Studio Zuccon International Project – for exterior design and interior layout – and the Group’s Engineering Department, for naval design and interior design.

Exterior design
With a 26-metre hull, and a construction length below 24 metres, the new flybridge can be considered a pleasure craft. The two hull windows with integrated portholes are wide enough to allow for the most of the natural light and to provide excellent ocean views.
A single full-height window on the main deck enhances the overall experience, cutting through the entire superstructure, plus the large front and side dome at the raised helm station. The profile is completed by the flybridge with the roll bar in Vulcan Grey, the second colour of the brand and an effective contrast with the ivory white.

Aft area and cockpit
The vessel features a transom door that can swing open to provide a swimming platform, or a beach area and can be lowered below the water surface, offering a large submersible platform as well as a practical solution for the crew’s tender moving operations (the garage can house a Williams 385).
The cockpit, accessible from both sides, is furnished with a multi-purpose sofa which, thanks to its collapsible backrest, can both be a chaise longue and seat diners around the outdoor table.
On the starboard side towards the bow, under the staircase to the flybridge, various storage compartments, an ice-maker, and mooring controls are available.

Main deck
The glazed sliding door leads into a long open space with lounge and dining area. The décor, chosen by the in-house team in collaboration with international trend researchers, creates a stunning and unconventional onboard furnishings.
The resulting living style reflects the latest developments in residential architecture, through minimalism and a soft, essential mood: partitions, full-height glazed surfaces, light and pleated curtains, freestanding furniture are some of the typical elements of this contemporary concept. The yacht features Minotti’s design styling, from accessories to wood type.
The galley is forward beyond the lobby and the helm station, separated from the guest area, fitted with a large cooking top. Beside it, near the stairs to the crew quarters, a dinette can be found. An alternative layout locates the galley on the port side with a cocktail bar facing the lounge, which enhances the convivial atmosphere onboard.

Lower deck
The airy master suite, designed with Minotti, is in the same style as the main deck. Besides the central king-size bed and bedside tables, it features a study area along the bulwark with a Minotti unit, a large wardrobe and storage compartments. Behind the suite, the transverse fuel tank and insulated partition minimise noise from the engine room. The lower deck houses two spacious VIP double cabins and a fourth cabin, fitted with twin beds. Every cabin has en-suite bathroom and separate shower.
The crew quarters are located in the bow and include two cabins with bunk beds and private bathroom.

Flybridge and external forward area
The hard top is installed over the sundeck, extending towards the stern and bow, where it is also fitted with a rigid tinted glazing. The large panoramic flybridge is furnished with freestanding furniture, including a chaise lounge and Gloster sectional sofas.
Towards the bow is the helm station, and, on the starboard side, is the cocktail bar with storage compartments and worktops.
There is a second outdoor lounge area on the deckhouse. Featuring a large central sunpad, a dinette with seating for two and a folding table, it offers luxurious solitude on the set.
Upon request, the lounge can be fitted with sunshades and curtains to provide additional protection, privacy and enjoyment of the area. The technical mooring equipment is in fact housed separately in the bow.

Engines and performance
The Ferretti Yachts 850 will be fitted with MAN engines. Yacht owners will be able to choose twin V12 1800 mhp engines, reaching a cruising speed of 26 knots and a maximum speed of 29 knots. A more powerful version is also available, with twin 1900 mhp MAN V12 engines, to reach a cruising speed of up 27 knots and a maximum speed of 31 knots (preliminary data).
Seakeepers or Zero Speed hydraulic stabilizing fins can be fitted on request, to customize the yacht to suit the owner’s needs, both when cruising and at anchor.
