marina di Genova aeroportoDuring Ucina Confindustria Nautica’s last General Assembly, the next Genoa Boat Show has been announced to take place in September 21-26, 2017. The show is a strategic asset for operators in the whole Italian Nautical industry to introduce their products to the international market as well as to promote their companies.
The theme of the Assembly was the restart of the nautical sector, whose growth trend in the nautical year 2015/2016 has been very encouraging. According to the analysis carried out by Ucina’s Ufficio Studi, the global turnover has been growing of a +13%. In total, the 73% of the maritime operators expects a growth ranging up to 20% for next year: the 43% of the operators have been registering a growth up to 10%, the 22% up to 20%, and the 5% of more than 20%.
The Assembly has also been the occasion to recall several measures taken for the sector, which have been about EU directives on the leisure boats, the decree for the simplification of the dredgings in the touristic ports, the start of 12 working groups to work on decrees implementing the Boating Code, the simplification of customs procedures, the decree to confirm the VAT at 10% for the temporary moorings of less than a year after the judgment of the Constitutional Court, the confirmation of a “Blue Label” to avoid double cheks on boats from different police forces.
Ucina has brought 30 legislative acts, 3 regional laws, 19 circulars of the Ministry of Transports and of the road administration agencies, the modification of the income assessment, over the past five years.
The next objective for the association is to complete the implementation of the Boating Code and to solve the litigation on the increase of state concessions costs which may cause the bankruptcy of several touristic ports in Italy.
The Assembly also approved the calendar of next years’ participations of the main International Boat Shows and events related to the nautical industry, with a collective and institutional presence of the associate companies: Boot in Düsseldorf (January 21- 29), China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (April 26 – 29), Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (November), METS TRADE in Amsterdam (November 14 – 16).
A new analysis has been also carried out this year, the Customer Insight based on the expositors at the Genoa Boat Show and realized by the GRS Research&Strategy, part of the global research society Explori, boasting 1200 international fairs and more than 100 expositions in Italy. The analysis showed that the 77% of Italian expositors have been satisfied with the announcement of the dates of the next Genoa Boat Show and they also confirm their interest in attending the event.
