globalorderbookThe Global Order Book 2017, the world register of the orders for yachts ranging more than 30 metres in length, has been published.
Global trends show that the market, after some years of contraction, is stable again: the total number of yachts on order, under construction or on hold in 2017 is 760, five more than last year, and the average length is unchanged (40.84 metres).
Italy is still the world leader in the production of superyachts, and Azimut Benetti confirms its first place, which it has now been holding for seventeen years. The yard is the leader for both number of projects and total length: this year it is to start 65 projects (two more than last year), totalling 2.594 metres.
Second place goes to Ferretti, with 71 projects (56 last year) and 2.300 metres, while Sanlorenzo is third with 64 projects and 2.144 metres.
Overmarine Mangusta will be having a very positive year as well: from the eleventh to the seventh place in the rank, the shipyard will build 19 projects totalling 771 metres.
Fipa Group, on the other hand, had a decrease in the production (12 projects for 2017, one less than last year), and in the global ranking (from the sixteenth place to the nineteenth).
Italian Sea Group has reached the thirteen place, while Baglietti-Cnn (Gavio Group) entered the top 20 for the first time (seventeenth place).
The overall situation for Italian brands in the global order book is very promising, showing signs of recovery.
