Perini Navi’s 70-metre Sybaris awarded at 2017 Superyacht Design Awards

Perini Navi’s 70-metre superyacht Sybaris won several prizes at the 2017 Superyacht Design Awards, taking place in Kitzbuhel: she won the gold Neptune trophies for the Best Interior Layout & Design and Best Lighting Design, and the Newcomer of the Year award, which was presented to PH Design, after being finalist in six categories.
Bill Duker, Sybaris’s owner, commented: “I am delighted that the extraordinary work that realized a dream was recognized by the design community, as a unique work of art that has inspired and delighted others.”
Fabio Boschi, Chairman of Perini Navi, also expressed his satisfaction: “Delivering this splendid jewel has been a great achievement for Perini Navi. This has happened during an important time of re-design of our organization that has proved once again the excellent quality of the passionate group of people who are the backbone of our company.  I extend a special thank you to Mr Bill Duker for his insightful introduction of PH Design, who have shown the world their unique skills applied to yacht interior design.”
The sailing yacht had been launched at the yard’s facility in La Spezia in May 2016. Her naval architecture was carried out by the shipyard’s in-house team in partnership with Philippe Briand, who had also been collaborating on the 73-metre Grace E, while interior design is by Miami-based Peter Hawrylewicz and Ken Lieber.
Built out of alloy complete with a keel of variable draught (4.5m to 11.74m), Sybaris allows access to shallow areas and achieves good sailing performance. Sybaris’ sails are 2,300sqm wide and can be controlled solely through the use of consoles in the cockpit.
The vessel comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests across one master suite and two VIP rooms. She features a large guest area and her 18m long flying bridge offers generous spaces for relaxing or entertaining.
The yacht hosts two 7-metre carbon-fibre Cockwells tenders, one of which is a limo-tender, stored below deck forward along with the 4,5m rescue tender.
