For the second year in a row, the Apulia Boat Show 2017 is taking place in Bari, from March 29th to April 2nd. The show is a successful and confirmed event in the Adriatic Sea, taking place in the ideal location of Fiera del Levante: with a doubled exhibition area of more than 30 thousand square metres, the Fiera will host 120 exhibitors and 300 different boats.

The Apulia Boat Show 2017 is an occasion to enhance the debate about sea policies and strategies for the relaunch of the economy of the sea through its main sectors such as shipbuilding and maritime tourism.  The event will involve the main associations of the Italian nautical industry, such as Assonautica, Ucina and Nautica Italiana, the national institutions and organisations such as the ICE (Foreign Trade Institute).

Another theme approached during the debate will be the abroad promotion of the nautical sector with its expected outcome on tourism and on the charter world, which is not yet well known and not that accessible because of the lack of the main communication and promotion means.

The five-day event will offer plenty of business occasions and a rich programme of events with the aim to deeply analyse the opportunities that the nautical sector can offer to the economy of the South of Italy. During the manifestation, a memorandum of understanding for the development of a Nautical Pole of the South of Italy will in fact be signed. Such decision is the result of a fruitful agreement among Apulia Nautical Consortium, the Sicilian association Ascon and the Ancr of Region Campania. Collaboration agreements will be established among the 130 companies part of those associations, and a schedule to support the internationalisation of the whole sector will be planned.

“This year’s objective is to build a platform on the entire production chain of the economy of the sea, from fishing to nautical industry and tourism, with a special focus on the so-called “blue careers”, that is the jobs created by the blue economy,” said Giuseppe Meo, the Coordinator of the Show. “Another important step that will be defined during the Apulia Boat Show, will be the “network of ports” for the optimisation of the services and for the development of new touristic itineraries which start right from the accommodation facilities in the ports of the region. This is a project lead by the Apulia Nautical District, to which we have already begun working through cooperation agreements with the main actors of the Apulian hotel industry”, he concluded.
