Rio Boat Show 2017, 20th edition of the Brazilian event

Brazilian Aspronadi member, naval architect Luis Felipe Rocco, visited the Rio Boat show 2017 and sent us a short report about what is cooking on Brazilian yachts market. The 20th edition of Rio Boat Show, the largest outdoor Brazilian nautical fair, happened between April 5 and 11, at Marina da Glória, place that host the Olympic Games and one of the Rio de Janeiro’s postcards. The exhibition area, totally renovated and with easy public access, right in the heart of Rio de Janeiro is close to the center of the city and next to Santos Dumont Airport. Brazil is the largest economy of Latin America and evidence of economic growth in the country after two years of severe downturn suggests good winds for the nautical field.

About 150 vessels were displayed and about 40,000 visitors were present in the show. The traditional boat night parade cheered up the night. The Rio Boat Show together with the Sao Paulo Boat Show is one of the main events in Brazil.
The seven-day event offered plenty of business occasions and seminars with the aim to deeply analyze the opportunities that the nautical sector can offer to the economy of the Brazil.

The boats in the water shall allow visitors to have a unique experience by sailing on the boats of their dreams. This is the best way to make a decision at the time of purchase.
In the “Space of Wishes”, brands like Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Rolex and Faber-Castell will present convertible cars, SUV models, watches and premium pens. Mercedes has even created an off-road test drive of some of its models as an attraction to visitors.

The Intermarine, one of the most traditional Brazilian shipyard, launched you biggest jewel, the 95 feet is the largest serially produced boat in Brazil, equipped with two MTU 16V 2000 M84 engines with the most advanced technology in diesel engines. Its power, combined with the low level of emissions, ensures extremely enjoyable navigation. With numerous customization possibilities, layouts with 4 or 5 suites, breathtaking design and excellent navigability. This brand new yacht was designed by Luiz de Basto. Also there was showed another two fully customized Intermarine 80` units, among other models.

Another shipyard that debuts in the salon was the Okean Yachts that has your projects designed by the Italian studio Ferragni Progetti. The 50` boat denominated “fast trawler” have a dual navigation function, where you can navigate at low speeds with low consumption or accelerate at high speeds like a speedboat.
The shipyard is already a 80 feet on the way, scheduled to launch later this year. Like the 50 feet, the Okean 80 was designed by Paolo Ferragni.

Another traditional shipyard named Carbras Mar took your 41` Sportfish for the fishing enthusiasts equipped with two D11 625hp Volvo Penta engines the 41` was designed to appeal to the sophisticated angler by having all of the usual tools at hand to find, fight and successfully boat fish. this boat are normally totally custom made for each client.

For the Lovers of sailing, Group Sailing, representative of the Lagoon brand in Brazil, participated in the Rio Boat Show 2017 with the Lagoon 450 SporTop a perfect compromise between live-ability and performance and the awesome Beneteau Oceanis 45.

Cimitarra, Schaefer, Real Power Boats, Portofino Yachts, Ventura among others were other shipyards that participated.
