Cantiere delle Marche has recently delivered Galego, the third hull in its Darwin 102 series. The latest 31.1-metre steel and aluminium explorer yacht, christened during a ceremony held in Ancona on April 22nd was delivered to her owner in June.

Like her sister vessels Acala and Babbo, the previous hulls of the series built in 2015 and 2016, Galego features naval architecture and exterior design and by Hydro-Tec.

Compared to Acala and Babbo, Galego features higher 2.18-metre headroom inside for a total interior volume of 244 gross tonnage. Moreover, concerning the layout of outdoor spaces, her sundeck has been divided into two different areas: a lounge and a fitness area.

Pierluigi Floris is responsible of the interior styling of Galego. He developed a warm and welcoming interior featuring elegant wallpaper from Hermes, walnut wood panelling, leather wall linings from Poltrona Frau and selected pieces of furniture from Minotti and Baxter.

Up to eight guests are comfortably accommodated across four staterooms, including the owner’s suite, a VIP cabin and two twin rooms. Owners and guests are taken care of by a staff of seven people, also accommodated onboard in the dedicated crew quarters. The tender garage provides plenty of room for various water toys and a dive centre.

A pair of Caterpillar diesel engines power Galego, allowing for a top speed of 13.6 knots. Meanwhile, the electric fin stabiliser system will ensure smooth cruising. When travelling at a speed of ten knots, Galego will boast an impressive maximum range of 5,900 nautical miles, drawing on a total fuel capacity of more than 40,000 litres.

Galego will spend her first yachting season cruising the Adriatic sea, then she will be making her debut at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival. Towards the end of the year, she will cruise across the Atlantic for the Caribbean season.
