Sarp XSR range of eco-friendly superyachts

Sarp XSR range of eco-friendly superyachtsTurkish shipyard Sarp Yachts has worked in collaboration with Van Oossanen and Red Yacht Design on a new range of superyachts, the XSR. Unveiled at the latest edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, Sarp new XSR range includes three models of different sizes: the XSR 85, 105 and 125, all of which will be built upon speculation at the yard’s facilities in Antalya.

Concerning naval architecture, all three models belonging to the XSR series feature Van Oossanen’s innovative Fast Displacement Hull Form, which ensures remarkable performance, efficiency and comfort.

Turkish design studio Red Yacht Design developed the exterior design and interior styling of all three vessels, in close collaboration with Sarp Yachts’ in-house team. Among the most notable features, floor to ceiling windows enhance the connection with the ocean; exterior decks are furnished exclusively with loose furniture in order to allow owners and guests to easily use the yacht for cruising and making the best of the superyacht lifestyle.

Emre Sandan of Sarp explained that the design focus of the new XSR range is environmental sustainability: “We have great passion for nature and we are concerned about water and air pollution. Yachts with conventional propulsion systems may not be the first guilty party for the increasing of pollution, but as a pioneering shipyard in the Antalya Free Zone, Sarp Yachts is aware of its responsibilities towards the environment. Therefore, our brand new concept yacht family, XSR, will be built with the parallel hybrid propulsion systems; the best alternative for the fossil fuels. The hybrid propulsion system enables you to avoid the noise, vibrations, emissions and expense of running your diesel generators at anchor.”

The 32-metre XSR 105 will provide accommodation for up to eight guests over a four cabin layout, including a full beam owner’s suite and a full beam VIP cabin. Performance wise, she will be able to reach a top speed of 20 knots, and a range of 900 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 15 knots.

The 38.2-metre XSR 125, on the other hand, will accommodate up to 12 guests, with the full beam owner’s suite featuring a private terrace and sauna. Her cruising speed of 14 knots allows for a range of 1,800 nautical miles.
