The marine world is a segment in which Garmin is pointing heavily. Every year the company presents forty new products in this area. From January to September, the marine area grew, worldwide, in terms of sales, of about 20% on the same period last year. In Italy growth in the same period was 35 %. These are some data from Garmin Marine Italy, communicated during the event Flibs Fuorisalone, recently organized in Milan. On this occasion, many innovations in terms of products have been presented. Among the new products fall within the line of transducers Chirp, for fishermen looking for high performance. These transducers are available in a range that includes several products, from portable transducer useful for ice fishing, until the internal transducer and are offered in various configurations: traditional Chirp , Chirp DownVü and Chirp SideVü .The new series GT8HW works in a High Frequency Wide Chirp of 140-230kHz with a wide range, useful for fishermen who want to sound shallow.Suitable for fast boats with fiberglass hull tilted from 0° to 20 °, the new 8-pin transducer GT15M – IH is the first model of internal Chirp. He works with a frequency of Chirp 80-160kHz and 600W. The new 8-pin transducers GT22HW GT23HW  are recommended to those who seek traditional Chirp and Chirp  DownVü. These tools, available from December, are compatible with the series Garmin Striker and echoMAP Chirp , with the series Gpsmap and black-box system GSD 25.

Fishfinder, chartplotter and other new products

The series Striker is the new family of fishfinder with traditional technology and Chirp, Chirp technology DownVü and SideVü and GPS system. Fishermen will not only analyze the seabed and discover the fish under the boat, but also to mark the spot of fishing more interesting and easily return . Also, thanks to the GPS system, they will have information on navigation speed and see leeway when fishing adrift.These products have a bright color display, 3.5 , 5 and 7 inches. They all come with an innovative keyboard that allows easy and quick use and an integrated GPS antenna that allows to mark the best areas for fishing or areas of interest. It’s possible to share information with other devices Striker or echoMAP installed on board.EchoMAP Chirp, new chartplotter combined, integrates Chirp, Chirp DownVü and SideVü technologies to ensure high performance for the most demanding anglers. These products feature the Garmin Quickdraw Contours and integrate with the NMEA 2000 network, to display information of the engine, the sensors and the autopilot on the chartplotter display.Garmin introduced the transducer Panoptix PS21, designed to be mounted on a bracket or electric motor. Thanks to PS21 fishermen will benefit from the technology LiveVü Forward for sonar images in real time what happens in front of vessel. The transducer is compatible with Garmin chartplotter GpsMAP and new echoMAP Chirp. Its small size and easy mounting system makes this transducer suitable for medium to small boats and fishing in coastal or freshwater.Garmin also announced Quickdraw Contours, function that allows fishermen and ship owners to trace autonomously their bathymetric. The result appears on the screen of compatible Garmin chartplotter, and can be shared with other users.
