The German Institute of Navigation is organising the 12th International Symposium on Integrated Ship’s Information Systems and Maritime Traffic Engineering: the conference will take place at the Hafen Hotel in Hamburg, Germany, from 31 August to 2 September 2016. German Institute of Navigation will hold the event in cooperation with the Maritime University of Szczecin, Poland.
Integrated Ship’s Information Systems are effective means in order to enhance safety and efficiency of the maritime traffic system: they are used, for instance, onboard of ships, at vessel traffic as well as fleet service centres to analyze situations, improve awareness about the overall maritime conditions, support decision making and thus considerably help the management processes.
Approaches and solutions ensuring the proper provision and utilization of relevant data and information are the main focus of the conference. Taking into account practical experiences and environments with increasing information overload, the talks will also discuss the role and the needs of humans while using new information systems. Moreover, the aim of the conference will be to provide up-to-date information about ongoing activities, project results and applications related to information systems and their harmonization within the fast developing e-navigation period.
Focuses of the conference will be on sea survey technologies, training and supporting technology for mariners, critical BRM and safety concepts infrastructures, safe navigation in port entrances, reliability, resilience and integrity of navigational information and, last but not least, autonomous ship technologies.
The Symposium is an excellent platform to present advanced approaches for green navigation and unmanned ships as well as for further future concepts. Manufacturers, developers or service provider of equipment and components complementing the topics of the Symposium are invited to display state-of-the-art hardware and software in an exhibition held in the same conference area.
