Niniette, a new sports yacht series by Bugatti and Palmer Johnson

Share:

Bugatti_BoatBugatti, maker of some of the fastest sports cars, and Palmer Johnson, world renowned motor yacht builder, are in partnership for a new project: Niniette, an open carbon-fibre sport yacht available in three different dimensions ranging from 42ft to 88ft.
The model designed jointly features style elements of Bugatti’s iconic classic cars and combines them with the revolutionary hull shape of Palmer Johnson’s SuperSport series. The classy and distinctive design elements  borrowed by Bugatti are, for instance the falling shoulder line of the Bugatti Type 57 C Atalante and the balanced proportions of the Type 41 Royale. As with sports cars, form follows performance: the Bugatti design team created a shape perfectly fitting the performance requirements. Advanced materials have been applied by experienced Palmer Johnson, such as ultra-strong ultra-lightweight titanium and exposed carbon fibre.
The link between the Palmer Johnson Niniette and Bugatti’s design is also evident from the accentuated waist line and the typical two-tone color scheme. Viewed from the side, the design is highlighted by sleek surfaces and lines with high colour contrast (the light titanium and the dark blue carbon fibre) balancing elegance and sportiness in a harmonious design. The colour contrast is also found on deck, where the combination of a brown bubinga, maple or naturally blue morta oak wood provides a warm eye-catching mix with the lightweight high-tech materials.
Ettore Bugatti, founder of the homonymous company, had already developed racing boats in the Thirties: he had a personal relationship with his yachts, since he called them with his daughter’s pet’s name Niniette. More than 80 years later, the affectionate tradition has been revived and the new sports yachts share its name once again.
