Tankoa Yachts Reports GrowthGenoa-based shipyard Tankoa Yachts has reported impressive activity levels over the course of the past eleven months.
The Italian yacht builder has enjoyed several announcements across the year, like the launch of the successful 69.3m superyacht Suerte –the first yacht in Tankoa’s 70-metre series- at the Monaco Yacht Show, and the notable unveiling of two new yacht concepts, the S531 and the S532.
The new concepts, based on Tankoa’s 10.3-metre width platform, were officially unveiled to potential clients and top brokerage houses at both the Monaco Yacht Show and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, two of the biggest international yacht shows.
Moreover, during the Fort Laudedale International Boat Show, Tankoa had the chance to suggest a number of new construction projects, and the response from potential clients was very encouraging.
In view of its burgeoning order book, the yard decided indeed to create a new unit completely dedicated to fully custom projects, the “ FCP business unit”: benefitting from the yard’s hull platform collections of 50, 53, 55, 58, 60, 65, 71, 80 and 88 metre, the unit will adapt them to clients’ own projects created by designers of their choice.
Tankoa Yachts hopefully expects to build on their excellent year in 2016, and their ambition seems well within their reach.

Students, Composites and Performance

Vaber worked with Politecnico di Torino to train engineering students who, between lectures and exams, design and build racing boats and single-seaters: materials, method and applied know-how at the core. They learnt when the process makes the difference – even beyond the university workshop – with Plexus structural adhesives, spray tack and infusion consumables, key elements in composite materials engineering.
