The fourth hull in the Wallycento superyacht series, after being sold last November, is now being built at Persico Marine.
Persico began first manufactured mould in its Nembro plant, and then moved it to her facility in Savona, where the yard has started laminating the yacht’s 30.48-metres hull.
Italian studio Pininfarina is soon to undertake her interior design, and delivery is expected in summer 2017.
The vessel was developed by Mark Mills of Mills Design, the third naval architect to collaborate on this stunning series. Designed to be able to take part in the most famous regattas in the world, the yacht has been carefully made as lightweight as possible to achieve demanding performance goals, and this care reflects in the interior design as well.
“Thanks to our high quality production processes,” said Marcello Persico, managing director of Persico Marine. “I am confident that we will be able to optimise the yacht’s weight while complying with the box-rule limitations and the Wally spirit.”
Paolo Pininfarina, chairman of Pininfarina, considers WallyCento 4 the perfect continuation of its engagement in yacht design. “Pininfarina and the sea have a long relationship that has generated, over the years, jewels able to combine elegance and performance. Our philosophy is to conceive tailor-made projects, designing every single detail with the aim of fulfilling the need and the dreams of the customer. The WallyCento #4 is a new extraordinary chapter of this long-lasting story.”

The state of the global yachting market presented at Borsa Italiana in Milan
The global yachting market may be slowing, but Italy’s boatbuilding industry continues to outperform, driven by the superyacht and premium segments. That was the key takeaway from the fourth edition of The State of the Art of the Global Yachting Market, the report produced by Deloitte and Edison Foundation in collaboration with Confindustria Nautica and presented in Milan at the headquarters of Borsa Italiana.
