The tender procedures related to the construction of a new Cyprus marina in Paphos, are to be completed this year, paving the way for construction to begin in 2025, according to local business representatives.

George Mais, president of the Paphos Chamber of Commerce, says that if no objections to the tender terms are filed by the end of April 2024, local authorities will proceed with awarding relevant contracts, local media outlet Tala Community Newsletter reports.

Mais says that three consultancy firms have submitted bids to provide their services with regards to the tender preparation process. The selected consultancy will be tasked with preparing the necessary paperwork for these in the procedures, leading to the selection of a strategic investor that will lead the marina project, according to the chamber’s president.

Under the plan, the new facility will be able to accommodate some 1,000 craft. The marina will also include a jetty for luxury cruise ships, a hotel, and residential and commercial areas. Paphos is located in western Cyprus on the Mediterranean coast.
