Lofrans and Max Power successfully hosted their Technical Convention 2026 from 15 to 16 October, bringing together partners and technical specialists representing over 30 service stations for two days of technical sessions dedicated to knowledge sharing, product innovation and professional collaboration.

The Convention kicked off on 15 October at the Lalizas Port, the new Lalizas Group headquarters in Piraeus, Greece, where participants attended a series of technical seminars led by George Papoutsis, Lofrans & Max Power Technical Manager, and Andreas Dimitrellos, Lofrans & Max Power Technical Supervisor.

Taking place in the year of Lofrans’ 60th anniversary, the Convention highlighted the brand’s six decades of Italian expertise and innovation in anchoring solutions. The Lofrans sessions combined technical insights with practical demonstrations, covering proper windlass selection, maintenance and troubleshooting of the X2, X3, Cayman and Tigres windlasses, and the X4 gearbox in both CW and CCW versions.

Enhancing skills through practical workshops

Participants received hands-on guidance on key procedures, including gypsy replacement, electric motor servicing, gearbox replacement, servicing of retired models, as well as cable sizing and fuse selection. The sessions also covered Lofrans accessories, including new remote controls and chain counting sensor testing.

The programme also featured dedicated technical sessions on Max Power thrusters, focusing on the maintenance and troubleshooting of the CT80 and CT225 electric tunnel thrusters and the CRE and VIP models.

Additional topics included differences between older and newer electronic boards and joysticks, a presentation of the ECO PRO series, and remote telemetry troubleshooting.

New product launches and future developments

Following the first day’s sessions, attendees travelled to LaLiBay Resort & Spa on Aegina Island, where the Convention continued on 16 October with a focus on the latest product developments and innovations.

A key highlight was the introduction of the latest version of the RAZZA horizontal windlass, featuring a fully mirror-polished finish, alongside the presentation of the XP800 vertical windlass and the ST2000 and ST2500 planetary inline capstans. The Convention also offered a glimpse into the future with Smart Anchoring, an upcoming innovation expected to set new standards for the future of anchoring.
