The Spanish shipyard Astondoa announced that the second model in its superyacht line, the new Astondoa 100 Century, will be debuted at the upcoming editions of the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show.
Offering a different take on exterior design compared to other European and American competitors, Astondoa creates more integrated-looking hull and superstructure in a contemporary, almost spear-shaped, profile. This also results in a much larger main deck, with a generous headroom extending from the aft cockpit to the master suite located forward.
The Astondoa 100 Century features a saloon and formal dining area which reminds more of a waterfront apartment, with large windows flooding the open-plan area with plenty of natural light. The saloon’s gray oak panelling is matched with a white tiled floor and Spanish-looking furniture: Cristiano Gatto, responsible of the interior design of the yacht, conveyed a typically Iberian sensibility, keeping everything simple, bright, and elegant. Individual owners will be allowed to customise all interiors in collaboration with the design studio.
The full-beam master suite has his and her walk-in closets, a large bedroom, and separate bathrooms and showers. Large windows on both sides allow for plenty of natural light and for amazing views on the surrounding seascape. On the deck below four guest staterooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, divided into two doubles and two twins, provide accommodation for guests. A crew of four is also accommodated onboard, in a crew quarter located forward but accessible through a separate entrance.
The bridge is quite high in order to allow for excellent visibility from the pilothouse. With twin 2,185 hp MTU 16V 2000 M86 diesel engines, the Astondoa Century 100 boasts a top speed of 26 knots, and a cruise speed of 22 knots.
