YachtEye_interactive_map_weatherOculus Technologies, a Dutch company specialising in software and hardware development, is making an exclusive preview at Monaco Yacht Show 2015: YachtEye 2.0  will be on show to the industry for the first time after a two-year development process. An updated version of one of Oculus’ most known infotainment services for superyachts, it boasts additional performance, technology and user features. Improvements to the hardware and revisions to the graphic appearance were made, thus increasing efficiency and technological vitals: memory has been expanded, which benefits speed, storage and resolution.
YachtEye enhances service and yachting experience onboard: combining data processing, intuitive interaction and visual design, it offers valuable insights about the journey, the stay on board and the environment via TV, touchscreens and iPads.
The yacht is displayed in 3D at its current position in a multi viewpoint animation, while real-time information such as heading, temperature, wind direction and speed are provided from the navigation systems on the bridge. Weather reports, forecasts, radar images and long term weather trend information are also presented on their geographical location. Moreover, YachtEye can show the planned route on the onscreen map with accurate satellite imagery: routes can also be automatically loaded from the navigation chart system (ECDIS) and all the planned journeys can be managed and updated into YachtEye. A 3D geo-exploring is made possible on a large intuitive touch surface. The user can create personalised itineraries with information about the destinations visited, upload pictures, video and text to a specific tagged location on the map. These some of the interesting services provided by the Oculus Technology’s infotainment platform for superyachts.
During the Monaco Yacht Show, YachtEye 2.0 will be on display on both the Van Berge Henegouwen (QAB4) and Icon Connect (QAA22) stands, where more information will be available upon request. All features, technology and improvements will be detailed in full during the official launch.
