May 2011 VITRUVIUS YACHTS LtdA new 105m superyacht named Acquaintance has been presented at the latest Monaco Yacht Show: she is the product of the collaboration between Oceanco, a Dutch shipyard having design and sales offices in Monaco, and Philippe Briand, currently working as exterior designer under Vitruvius Yachts.
The vessel’s minimal and clean design, with sharp exterior lines and low profile deckhouses, is in continuity with the usual style by Oceanco, and perfectly represents the concept of a 100m+ superyacht ahead of her times.
The owner’s personal deck, designed to bear all weather conditions while offering an aft facing suite with uninterrupted views, is on a private level. Views being one of the most enjoyable aspects of life on board, a further private observation lounge is placed ahead on the deck, facing forward, while all the other guests may enjoy the view from the bridge deck, which boasts a large 270-degree view panoramic saloon.
In the yacht there will be enough room to accommodate a crew of 32 members, in charge of looking after the up to 24 guests, hosted in 10 guest cabins -two of which are VIP cabins with their own set of forward facing windows- located on the main deck.
Acquaintance will have a gross tonnage of 4,302gt, ample space for a large array of water toys and tenders up to 12 metres. A beach club, cinema, gym and sauna will be found on the lower deck. On the top deck there will also be a touch and go helicopter landing pad for easy transfers. Acquaintance is equipped with 4 MTU 16V 4000 M33’s developing 1,760kW each, combined with two electrical motors. Being eco-friendly and fuel efficient, the PYC-compliant vessel will perfectly embody Oceanco’s brand identity.
