Sea-Stella-110-sbDND Yacht Design has teamed up with Yihong Yacht to create a new 33.43 metre superyacht, to be added to Sea Stella’s portfolio, the Sea Stella 110’.
The yacht is aimed at first-time owners looking for a luxury product at an expedited time and competitive price, and it is expected to appeal both the international and the local Chinese markets, with the fully customisable layout arrangement according to her owner’s requirements. Performance packages and auxiliary additions are also customisable options: twin MTU M93’s can be installed to offer a top speed of 28 knots, with two optional Seakeeper gyro stabilisers providing extra comfort. The moulds from which the hulls will be formed are nearing completion and construction on hull one is soon to start.

A promising partnership
The Xiamen-based yacht design studio, previously focusing on architecture, started working at yacht interiors in 2009 and, by 2012 their yacht department had become strong and independent with the collaboration of foreign designers. The studio is since then able to create full yacht designs, from hull design to engineering and styling, specialising in the in the 20ft to 200ft range. DND Yacht Design has already completed 24 yacht projects ranging from 30ft to 165ft, plus their customised versions.
DND Yacht Design works for Chinese manufacturers, in particular for Yihong Group, the builder shipyard of the Sea Stella brand, for which the firm developed the complete product line also assisting the production.
The 63 ft model designed for Xihong Group is the best selling yacht in China, with 43 units sold to date.
Yihong’s shipyard, located in Zhangzhou, China, has an annual output up to 80 yacht units, 300 RV units and 500 caravan units. It was awarded “Best Chinese Manufacturer” award at the 2015 Shenzhen Yacht Show for its 68ft project developed by DND. Sales are operated through six self-owned yacht clubs, 21 distributors, and 300 individual agents. According to Yihong, its network is the largest yacht distribution channel across China.
