riva-76-bahamasAt its world première at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2016, Riva’s new model 76’ Bahamas won the World Yachts Trophies award for Best Exterior Design in the 50 to 80 foot range category.
The new convertible yacht has been created on the same hull platform of the 76’ Perseo coupé, and is fitted with the renowned Convertible Top system, the exclusive Ferretti Group patent first featured on the 88’ Florida, which enables a yacht to be transformed from open to coupé mode and vice versa. Joining the two best sellers, launched in September last year and both winners of the World Yachts Trophies 2015, is now the 76’ Bahamas, with a recognition that confirms the position achieved by Riva in recent years as a leader of innovation.
The 76’ Bahamas – the result of collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee and its Engineering Department – combines the two souls of the open and coupé versions into a single model, offering a beautiful yacht equipped with cutting-edge technology.
“Written into the 76’ Bahamas is Riva’s current DNA: a perfect synthesis of history and tradition, of innovation and technology, of elegance and performance” says Alberto Galassi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ferretti Group. “The new convertible epitomises the synergy between excellence in yacht design and excellence in naval engineering that has produced a super sports boat. With graceful lines and rich in technical features, it is built using cutting-edge materials and sails like a dream. Owners will enjoy an unforgettable experience thanks to the sophisticated Mediterranean lifestyle offered by this yacht.”
The World Yacht Trophies
Organized by the French nautical magazine “Yachts France”, it is the first contest in the new nautical year and the ideal occasion to celebrate all the new models and innovations exhibited on the French Riviera. The awards ceremony was held on the Plage of the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel as part of the closing events of the Cannes Yachting Festival, and was followed by the new yachts parade in front of La Croisette, where Riva chose to debut its second new model, the speedboat Rivamare.
