During the International event Euronaval held in Paris, the next edition of the Seafuture – See Innovation 2018 has been officially presented.
The presence of the Italian Navy and of the delegation of the foreign navies and companies confirmed the strategic importance of Seafuture to enhance important synergies and the creation of new collaborations.
Cristiana Pagni, President of La Spezia EPS, Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Riviera, commented: “Seafuture enters as protagonist in the international scenario, and it establishes an important relationship with Euronaval in Paris, one of the main events in the field of the naval defence of the world. A sector that on its own represents about 40 billion dollars. From Paris we started the countdown towards the VI edition of Seafuture, supported by the Italian Navy and by important strategic partners such as Fincantieri, other big players and plenty of small and medium-sized enterprises which have already taken part in the last edition and which have confirmed their presence at the upcoming one. As well as Foreign Navies confirmed their attendance. Our aim for 2018 is to increase the spaces of the Dock Area, to increase the presence of high representatives of the foreign Navies, to improve the performance of the Advanced Bilateral Meetings and to define seminaries and conferences on the basis of themes of interest outlined by the SMEs.
With the collaboration of the Italian Navy, the participation of other institutions involved in the protection of the sea, of trades and borders will also be intensified. From the very beginning, in fact, using the networking as an important tool for the growth of Seafuture, entering agreements with different subjects such as Ediconsult, Seatec (International Exhibition of Sea Technology and Design), GICAN (Groupement des Industries de Construction et Activités Navales), the centre of Euronaval.”
“Only a few months ago we have concluded the 2016 edition of Seafuture – said Lorenzo Forcieri, President of the Ligurian District of the Maritime Technologies – with more than surprising results, which are very remarkable for our City.” 26 foreign Navies, 5000 sqm of exhibition spaces inside the Naval Base in La Spezia and more than 120 exhibitors, 1000 visitors, more than 800 B2B among enterprises and Navies, 33 graduates taking part at the Seafuture Awards, among which the 7 best degree or PhD thesis in the field of maritime technologies have been seleted, dual use and low environmental impact, and 4 days of specialised conferences with the most qualified speakers in the sector. He continued “Numbers and feedbacks which demonstrate how our city is particularly attractive for convention activities and how the gap in our accommodation facilities should soon be bridged. Seafuture is a unique showcase for La Spezia, both on the national and international level: starting point to grow more and more and expand our borders.”
The presentation of the 2018 edition of Seafuture was held in the exhibition space called “The Italian Cluster of Maritime Technology”, which gathers 18 Italian small and medium-sized enterprises, supported by the special enterprise La Spezia EPS.
