More and more champion-Ambassadors for B&G

Tommaso Chieffi

B&G, brand focused on sailboats and passionate about sailing, is proud to announce the names of its new Italian ambassadors who enlarge the athletic team of the electronic onboard brand. This team is now composed of 7 yachtsmen/yachtswomen recognised in Italy and around the world. Tommaso Chieffi, one of the well-known name of the sailing world, is leading the team.

B&B Ambassador: Tommaso Chieffi

His career started in 1985 when he won the Olympic game (class 470) with his brother Enrico and, during the same year, he entered in the American’s Cup as a helmsman for Team Italia. To mention some of his successes, there are the 5th attendances at the American’s Cup, where he won in 1992 with Moro di Venezia and in 2003, when he reached the final with Oracle in Aukland.

In 2005/2006 he made an impression with the partecipation at the Volvo Ocean Race, with his victory as a tactic with Abn Amro 1. His long curriculum is too long to sum up: we can count 27 titles world wide in several classes, 5 European titles and 13 national championship, in addition to 5 medals for the athletic merit.

B&B Ambassadors: Conti and Clapcich

Giulia Conti and Francesca Clapcich, class 1985 and 1988, are longstanding friends and, besides collect personal successes, in 2015 they became together Italian, European and worldwide champions in class 49er FX. The two athlets were also honoured with the gold collar for the sport value, the maximum award of CONI and the prestigious award Giulio Onesti 2015.

Giulia is, since October 2017, the coach of the female American national (class 49erFX), with which she won the bronze medal during the World Championship in 2020, while she’s currently preparing for the Tokio Olympic Games 2021.

On the other hand, Francesca: the only woman in Italian history to take part at Volvo Ocean Race, in 2017. She’s actually involved in the ambitious project of a tour alla round the world with a female team during the next Ocean Race 2021.

These new arrivals are summing up to the historical group of Ambassadors, who follow through the B&G brand for several years.

Enrico Zennaro

Enrico Zennaro is an internationally renowned champion who started to sail from the childhood and never stopped: he collected 8 worldwide title, 7 European and 11 Italian, during some of the most important regattas, as Extreme Sailing Series, Fastnet, Nord Stream Race e Arabian Sailing Tour.

In 2013 he was the team manager of the “Team Italy powered by Stig”, the unique Italian challenger of the Red Bull Youth Americas Cup Selections Series in San Francisco. His passion made him to partake in the principal world circuit, reaching better and better results. Next step: Grand Prix Persico 69F.

Matteo Rusticali

Matteo Rusticali is a FIV instructor with great experience both in centerboard and open water. He’s now managing several projects, as the one to build a totally Italian boat for the mini transat challenge of 2023. He loves to instill his passion for this sport – and for the nature – mostly to young people: he’s in fact the president of the juvenile class RS Feva, craft made of completely recyclable polythene.

Giulio Calabrò e Giacomo Ferrari

To conclude, the admired champions of the ITA-757 G&G: Giacomo Ferrari e Giulio Calabrò, two young sailsmen from Rome. Friends since their childhood, they both started to sail in 2005 at the Naval League, Lido di Ostia section, and in 2011 they began to navigate on class 420. Since 2013 Ferrari and Calabrò perform the olympic class 470 and they’re currently taking part in professional regattas for the Navy Sport Group.
