Antonini Navi wins the confidence of another customer who books a slot for three months to build an Offshore Patrol Vessel (O.P.V.) 56 metres in length under 500 GT. It took several months of intensive work to fully satisfy the owner, involving Architect Fulvio De Simoni for the design and the shipyard’s technical office for the engineering and all preliminary planning work.

A great satisfaction for the shipyard

Aldo Manna, Antonini Navi Partner and Sales Director, said: “We are very pleased with such a concrete expression of interest just 10 months after the shipyard’s debut in the world of superyachts. The market seems to appreciate our production and design flexibility, but most importantly our willingness to build truly custom superyachts made to measure according to our customers’ requirements.

Antonini Navi is a reliable and well-structured business, which means we can offer the market a broad and diversified range of solutions: from the construction of yachts we design ourselves like UP40, now under way, to full custom projects built from scratch, as in the case of this 56-metre O.P.V.

Last but not least, the shipyard is also available to take on projects on behalf of third parties. Our close working relationship with the design firm led by Fulvio De Simoni allows us to reduce construction time and periodically develop innovative new high-profile concepts. We are very satisfied at the attention we are receiving from customers and brokers”.

italian mega yachtO.P.V. 56, a 56-metre yacht with austere lines and unequivocally military inspired styling (hence the name), was designed with a ‘functionalist’ approach, where every aspect of the project reflects its purpose.

At sea, simplicity is an added value: seagoing performance, easy to use onboard spaces and services, and rational construction are qualities that experienced owners cannot fail to appreciate”, commented naval architect Fulvio De Simoni.

This mature and substantial vessel reflects the values embraced by Antonini Navi, whose experience and specialisation in marine and naval constructions at the very highest level ensures exceptional quality and safety”.

OPV 56 design

The design features an imposing high bow to ensure safe navigation and clean, pared down lines that give the ship a unique personality. The continuous foredeck is designed to accommodate a helipad, while the upper deck is entirely devoted to the master suite. Occupying over 150 square metres, the aft deck is multifunctional and can be adapted to cater for any solution and customisation.

Aldo Manna summed up by saying: “We are pleased to be able to demonstrate once again the Shipyard’s great flexibility, by offering the market a 56-metre superyacht with gross tonnage under 500 GT, which in itself represents an unprecedented design success. Our hope is that this recently formalised expression of interest will soon become reality and in the near future we will see the O.P.V. 56 project ride the waves around the world. We also confirm, as recently announced, that construction work on UP40 continues at full speed.
