Yamaha outboard motors are lightweight and durable, with transom-friendly dimensions, boat-friendly designs and legendary levels of reliability.

The collaboration agreement between Yamaha Motor Europe and the boat builder provides that from today until 2026 all White Shark boats – manufacturer of iconic luxury motorboats – distributed in Europe will be equipped exclusively with single or double Yamaha engines.

Customer-centric

The collaboration between Yamaha and White Shark is an important step that adds to the commercial partnerships that the three tuning fork company has signed with the most important and representative manufacturers in the nautical sector. It is a perfect partnership to offer a line of packages strongly focused on the customer and his needs.

Fabrice Lacoume, Director of the Marine Division of Yamaha Motor Europe, explains: “We are very excited to begin this long-term agreement with White Shark. Yamaha Motor’s corporate mission is to offer customers experiences of exceptional value through the quality and cutting-edge performance of the three tuning fork products.

The customer-centric innovations that are part of the Yamaha outboard range, combined with the DNA of the iconic White Shark brand and the representative line-up of boats, will surely offer a unique experience to customers looking for more refined adventures”.

Whatever the customer’s need, from agility and immediate responsiveness to sailing in total comfort or premium performance and first-class performance, the Yamaha “High Power” and “Premium” outboard lines are perfect for amplifying and emphasizing the excellent navigation of the nine White Shark models.

Yamaha’s commitment and goal is to offer every new White Shark customer a feeling of confidence and extreme reliability, which propels him to new adventures never explored before.

The iconic packages

The White Shark fleet, with Center Console (CC) and Sports Cabin (SC) boats from 21 to 30 feet in length, is divided into two main product lines.

  • The White Shark Origin range is the purist version of the legendary White Shark vessel that customers have appreciated, recognized and loved over the course of nearly 30 years.
  • The new Evo range, which leverages the expertise of renowned designer Jean-Jacques Coste, features the same “bow flare” that White Shark’s offshore hulls have become famous for, but offers an even more flexible and fun sailing style.

White Shark predicts that Yamaha V6 models from 300 to 225 hp will represent 80% of the outboards mounted on the transom of the entire production. The new partnership will involve at least ten Yamaha powertrain models, from the iconic 425hp XTO V8 to the lightweight 115hp 4-stroke. And with Yamaha’s Helm Master EX (HMEX) system, now also available for single engines starting from 150 hp, White Shark customers will have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive technologies such as, for example, easy joystick control.

At high speed or stationary, it also promises optimum control through fine-tuning of the autopilot function and easy positioning adjustments within the SetPoint.

Technologies

Yamaha’s latest technologies will also help White Shark customers make the most of the space on single-engined powerboats, such as the 210, 230 and 250 models.

Thanks to the Digital Electric Steering (DES) available on all Yamaha Digital Electronic Control outboards, part of the cockpit is free thanks to the removal of the various hoses and steering pumps associated with the hydraulic maneuvering systems.

Furthermore, the possibility of having a retractable lateral remote control box will allow owners to make the most of the space in the console such as that of the transom.

Lionel Vergnes, CEO and founder of White Shark, says:

We chose to partner with Yamaha for their constant commitment to the things that really matter. Just as our boats are supported by sturdy and reliable hulls that inspire comfort and safety, the technical innovation of Yamaha outboards helps make boating more intuitive, reliable and fun.

I have no doubt that, with Yamaha on board, we will be able to create a more complete and engaging sailing experience than ever”.

Collaboration already in the design phase, to ensure a better browsing experience

Designed and built for the Atlantic offshore waters of northwestern France, the proven strength of White Shark boats has earned a stellar reputation across Europe, thus transforming these boats into reliable sailing companions for boaters and anglers in all weather conditions and of sea.

In addition to optimizing the performance and reliability of the current fleet, the partnership allows White Shark to access Yamaha’s wealth of expertise and experience in the construction, testing and development of boats.

Like Mr. Vergnes is keen to underline, the collaboration promises exciting solutions for the customer:

Our partnership with Yamaha will bring great advantages in terms of power, weight of the transom, choice of propeller and interface system of the boat, full of features that make navigation even more comfortable.

Having the expertise of the Yamaha team for continuous product development means ensuring a positive evolution of the sailing experience of all new owners of the White Shark package, starting with our 21-foot pleasure boat up to the future 38-foot flagship feet“.

The partnership guarantees the customer a package that combines the skills of each company in every element of design, construction and outfitting. This collaboration will allow customers and enthusiasts to really dive into a new adventure.
