The Italian Sea Group increases the plan of training initiatives and inaugurates the “Academy” in collaboration with the University of Genoa and the Promostudi Foundation. It aims at creating paths of excellence for company employees and for graduating students in Nautical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Mechatronics and of the master’s degree course in Yacht Design.
The Academy
A multipurpose structure of about 300 square meters was built to host the Academy, with over 150 seats which. In this initial phase it will be used for one third of the capacity for face-to-face lessons, always depending on the evolution of the next regulatory measures.
The initiative will involve the professors of the University of Genoa, as well as professionals in the sector and the management of The Italian Sea Group, who will train and update employees and undergraduates through a series of courses aimed at enriching the know-how and professional skills with a focus on the design and production phases as well as improve general problem solving skills.

In detail, the first Academy courses that will start on May 3, 2021 will concern:
- Structural fire protection;
- Noise & vibration;
- Passenger yacht:
- MLC and Arredo Solas;
- 3D design;
- Quality control;
- Production process quality;
- Quality, aesthetics, fittings and furnishings;
The Italian Sea Group is also honored to support the Promostudi Foundation of La Spezia with its participation with financial support of 150 thousand euros for the next three years as well as with active participation also in the Scientific Committee. Promostudi manages, in close coordination with the University of Genoa, the G. Marconi University Center, an effective example of a highly qualified university, which has developed in accordance with the specific vocations and economic-productive needs of the area.
