Italy in the top 10 for the number of shipyards

Good news for the italian nautical industry related to shipyards.
Italy is in the top 10 of the countries in the world with the higher number of shipyards and refit companies. In front of Italy there are only a few realities, like US, Turkey, Spain and France. This information come from The Superyacht Forum that provided an in-depth analysis on the state of the market as part of the Yare (Yachitng Aftersales & Refit Experience) programme organized by Navigo, network of innovation and development in the yachting sector.

Confindustria Nautica

There is a turnover of almost 6 billion euros last year and exports for approximately 3 billion euros, the highest ever.

The numbers

In the range 30 – 45m, a + 1,209 units is expected in the decade 2020/2030; between 45 and 60m, an increase of 290 yachts. For fleet in the 60 – 90 range no substantial changes are expected: 151 yachts in the period 2011/2020 and 149 will be the ones between 2020/2030; for yachts over 90m they expect to go from 43 to 62 mega yachts. Totally, the difference will be 92 extra units.
