Smartgyro Gyroscopic Stabilizer for Mid-Sized vessels

Share:

Smartgyro’s SG20 gyroscopic stabilizer is tailored for vessels ranging from 45-55ft, offering a compact solution to enhance stability and comfort. Its innovative design features liquid cooling and a flywheel enclosed within a vacuum-sealed sphere, ensuring peak performance in challenging sea conditions.

Durability and marine compatibility

All aluminum components are crafted from a marine-compatible alloy, bolstering durability in harsh maritime environments. Surface treatments and additional coating cycles further protect against corrosion.

Modular design for easy integration and maintenance

The SG20’s modular mechanical design simplifies both installation and maintenance processes, allowing seamless integration into vessels and enabling onboard servicing without unit deinstallation. The vacuum-enclosed sphere enhances operational efficiency by reducing air drag, heat, and power consumption.

Precision and control

Equipped with an automated vacuum pump for onboard maintenance and a pressurized, closed-loop braking system, the SG20 ensures precise gyro control and operational smoothness, even in demanding sea conditions. Its control system, supported by a hardware computing platform and distributed sensors, precisely regulates hydraulic pistons to synchronize precession motion with rolling waves, generating maximum anti-roll torque for a smooth and safe journey.

Compact and high-performance

With dimensions of 76x77x65 cm and weighing 495 kg, the SG20 achieves high performance with a rated speed of 9500 RPM and an angular momentum of 5900 Nms.
