Industrial Precision, Artisanal Customiziation: the perfect climate for any vessel

Thermowell, founded on the experience of Renato Napoli, is now a global reference in marine air conditioning and yacht comfort solutions, thanks to its rare blend of industrial precision and artisanal uniqueness.

For over 45 years, the company has been designing tailor-made systems to deliver perfect yacht climate control conditions aboard vessels of all kinds, from state-of-the-art yachts to historic boats fitted with modern components.

A Growing Generational Transition

Thermowell’s success is rooted in a strategic generational transition: the entrance of Mattia and Giorgio Napoli introduced advanced technical expertise, enabling improvements in every aspect of its systems.
“We started working alongside our father (Renato) as kids: we didn’t know it then, but we were already learning the secrets of an industry that would soon be transformed. The pandemic, the green revolution, the onset of digital technologies, and the widening of yacht ownership among millions of new boaters were just around the corner,” recalls Mattia Napoli, Marketing & Sales Director of the family business.

Anticipating this revolution, we resolved that our company would never lose its direct connection to the sea, its vessels, and their owners,” adds Giorgio, Head of Production. “I don’t think there are many manufacturers who, while being producers, still dedicate so much time and effort to maintaining close relationships with end users.”

Engineered Customization Meets Craftsmanship

At the heart of Thermowell’s global standing is its deep engagement with each client: via a network of direct installers, the company is involved (directly or almost directly) in every installation. What does this yield? First – feedback from customers flows immediately into production, leading to ever more reliable and efficient systems. But that’s not all: at the request of its install-technicians, Thermowell can customize every unit to satisfy specific owner’s requirements.

Some concrete examples of custom marine systems include:

• Redesigning main modules to fit in tight or irregular spaces, especially in historic vessels
• Modifying heat exchange systems and hydraulic circuits to optimize performance depending on interior layout
• Customizing control systems, allowing integration with existing automation or designing dedicated interfaces for smartphone or central panel operation
• Specifying individual mechanical components according to the required levels of power, quietness, and efficiency

Through this synergy between industrial engineering and artisanal skill, Thermowell transforms standard systems into bespoke solutions, offering comfort that is efficient, reliable, and adaptive in every circumstance.

Perfect Climate Aboard, Worldwide

Operating in more than 40 countries, Thermowell showcases its expertise and solutions each year at top international boat shows such as the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Genoa International Boat Show, BOOT Düsseldorf, METSTRADE in Amsterdam, and the Miami International Boat Show. These events are more than just showcases – they are opportunities to convey the passion of a company whose core business is boat show innovation and marine climate control, delivering tailor‐made solutions for every vessel’s needs. In a sector driven by mass production, Thermowell stands out with tailor-made, engineered systems that adapt to any vessel and deliver uncompromising comfort. This excellence stems from a blend of experience, technical expertise, strong global partnerships, and artisanal craftsmanship, making Thermowell a benchmark for global marine solutions.

“I’m proud of my sons and their vision for the company’s future,” says founder Renato Napoli. “My role is to anchor their energy and preserve the memory of countless installations, while they lead the family business toward even greater success.”
