We spoke with Andrea Giorgetti, co-founder of Yacht Pro Hub, to explore a model that blends delivery, tailored Technical Coaching, yard support, oversight services and well-structured Owner Training programmes designed to reshape the relationship between owner and boat.

These are routes that cannot be improvised and require solid competencies, understanding of seabeds and currents, and navigation skills suited to remote areas. Delivery work is complemented by another strategic pillar: personalised coaching, built around the owner, the boat and – when present – the crew. This is not standard instruction, but genuine on-board guidance during crucial moments, from manoeuvres to problem solving. It is a path that supports owners in developing technical confidence and safety.
The birth of a method: training to build autonomy
“Many boats today are sold with the promise of simplicity thanks to electronics, automation and smart-control systems,” Giorgetti explains. “And it’s true: an owner can handle them without a skipper. But using a boat is not the same as truly knowing it.” This philosophy led to the creation of a training pathway designed to make owners increasingly autonomous. The programme consists of Learning Experiences, meaning technical and hands-on sessions addressing essential topics for safety and informed maintenance: deck hardware, mast and rig systems, electrical components, meteorology, engines, materials and day-to-day management of the boat. These sessions are never traditional lectures: they rely on real cases, owners’ own boats, practical exercises and interaction with highly specialised professionals – riggers, captains, technicians and expert trainers.
Learning Experiences: turning observation into skill
A clear example is the mast-focused programme. After 2 intense days combining theory and practice, owners learn to read the geometry of a rig, evaluate tensions and alignments, and recognise early signs of potential stress. Equally popular are the sessions dedicated to onboard electrical systems, often regarded as the most challenging part of a boat. During a Learning Experience held at Marina Cala de’ Medici, technicians worked on actual systems photographed and brought in by owners themselves: incorrect connections, missing fuses, outdated wiring. Direct comparison enabled participants to improve the safety of their boats the very next day. The strength of the Learning Experiences lies in their continuity: owners keep sending photos, questions and requests for verification. A constant dialogue that fosters steady growth.
Between yard and sea: technical support and oversight
Yacht Pro Hub also works within shipyards during refits, upgrades or new builds, supporting owners in technical choices: electrical layouts, onboard systems, electronics, and solutions that simplify future maintenance. Giorgetti clarifies: “We don’t carry out maintenance ourselves. We monitor the boat, inspect it and look after it. When we detect an issue, we call in the best specialist for that specific task.”

Next year promises to be strategic: the 2026 Learning Experience calendar is already extensive and covers crucial areas of modern navigation – from electricity to manoeuvring, from meteorology to mast management, from engines to specialised equipment. Sessions will be cyclical, allowing owners to return, update their knowledge, strengthen technical awareness and stay aligned with technological evolution. The goal is to offer continuous, progressive and modular training.

For Giorgetti, training is not merely about transferring technical information but about cultivating responsibility and a culture of safety. In the meteorology sessions, participants do more than interpret charts and models: they learn to combine them with observations of local patterns and the signs offered by sea and wind.
