Oleodynamic motor

With over 60 years of history in the hydraulic motor manufacturing sector, Oleodinamica Geco ranges from industrial, mobile and agricultural machinery applications.

In the nautical and naval field, the company’s product has equipped, over time, much of the Deck Equipment: anchor windlasses, capstans, winches dedicated to the world of deep-sea or racing sailing, mainsail furlers, jib furlers, as well as crane gangways for tenders, fishing winches, bow and stern thrusters, or even primary propulsion on workboats or on Marine Refitting of sea queens such as vintage sails.

The high level of quality offers particularly high efficiencies, such that high torques can be transmitted with almost no noise — a defining trait of a modern Oleodynamic Motor.

The oleodynamic motor has very small overall dimensions when compared to any other motor of a different category (endothermic or electric) with the same power expressed, with the advantage of being able to place the power unit on board in any position of the vessel according to the optimization of weight and space. Finally, the Geco range of Oleodynamics can for all intents and purposes be called sustainable: it is powered by pressurized oil that can be produced: • from an endothermic engine, but taking advantage of its greater efficiency by running it at the optimal speed specified by the manufacturer to have the least polluting impact — a clear example of Sustainable Propulsion; • by an electrically powered oil power plant, taking energy from the batteries alone, integrating seamlessly with modern Hydraulic Marine Systems.

Flowmeters on board: measuring water to reduce waste

On an increasingly digitalised vessel, the SIEL flowmeter becomes much more than a measuring instrument: it is a sensor capable of providing valuable information for a more efficient, responsible and sustainable management of onboard water resources.
