New superyacht launched in Turkey: Bering 70

Bering Yachts, a Turkish shipyard based in Antalya, announced the launch of the inaugural 21.20 metre Bering 70 superyacht, the first in the Yachtship series.
She has been constructed with extensive coastal cruising in mind, with comfort at the core of her design. In regards to her layout, the Bering 70 is highly configurable according to the owner’s tastes. She has been designed from the keel up to be a transoceanic yacht, like all of Bering’s models; however it is far from being a typical motoryacht, as it features a reverse-raked bow which is seldom seen in either traditional or contemporary designs. The absence of a large overhanging bow means that there is less reserve buoyancy to create lift when making contact with an approaching wave. This in turns leads the hull ‘slicing’ through waves as opposed to riding up and over, thereby dampening pitch at sea. The end result, a smoother ride for everyone on board.
Bering 70’s contemporary interior design is also a change from the more traditional styling found on many passage-making yachts, but her capabilities are that of a blue-water voyager.
She features a pilothouse deck, full displacement hull and a range of over 2,500 nautical miles, twin Cummins QSB – 6.7 engines, which provide her with a cruising speed of 9 knots, and a top speed of 11 knots. She has a range of 2,500 nm. Other details worth noticing are: composite superstructure, varnished mahogany interior, Corian countertops, Seakeeper M16, Gyro Stabilizers, two 8 person life rafts, hydraulic crane, nav/com electronic package in the wheelhouse. She is a 24V boat with two Victron 5 KW inverter/chargers, 120/240 V, 60Hz, 50amp shore power, 21.5 KW and 17.0 KW Onan generators.
She is now undertaking preliminary sea-trials (from 14th to 19th September) in Antalya and is expected to be fully completed by November.
