Reliant X40 tender under construction

Share:

The Newport-based yard Reliant Yachts will be building superyacht tenders, starting with its new Reliant X40 tender line.
The 12.26-metre cruiser, taking inspiration from the Reliant Commuter 40 range, will feature a lightweight carbon fibre hull and teak deck. She will be launched in early 2018, right ahead of her expected delivery to Italy.
The total 2.9-metre clearance allows the tender to be easily lifted and stowed by crane into a garage. Jim Ewing, principal of Reliant Yachts, adds that the yard has the flexibility to modify both height and length to work with the needed clearances. Seakeeper stabilisers ensure a smooth cruising experience.
A pair of 320hp Yanmar 8LV engines will power the tender, allowing for a top speed of 40 knots: Reliant X40 will be among the world’s fastest superyacht tenders. Fuel capacity of 1,100 litres is expected to allow for extended coastal cruises away from the mothership.
Accommodation on boards will be in a private forward cabin with a queen sized bed and en-suite shower, as well as a state of the art audio system. The swim platform will be fitted with a heated shower.
Reliant Yachts was founded in 2016 by Ewing and David MacFarlane, who have been producing classical models ranging up to 29.57 metres.
