Il prestigioso premio Dame Award 2011 lo ha vinto un’azienda di Villasanta (alle porte di Monza), la SCM. Questa piccola realtà di provincia ha rivoluzionato il mondo degli oblò inventando quello rotante con apertura a fasi. Sostituirà il tradizionale che si apre a compasso da 200 anni. «Un’eccezionale combinazione di funzionalità, estetica piacevole e alta ingegneria – è il giudizio dei giurati tra cui l’italiano Andrea Frabetti (gruppo Ferretti) – Riteniamo che questa eccezionale innovazione offrirà nuove opzioni ai progettisti che cercano di massimizzare il volume interno». Per decretare i vincitori delle otto categorie merceologiche, così come per il vincitore assoluto, la giuria ha preso in considerazione design, stile, qualità di costruzione, impatto complessivo sul settore nautico, idoneità, livello di innovazione, costo-efficacia, e impatto ambientale.
