INSTRUMENTATION TO MEASURE PROCESS VARIABLES

Share:

Since 1923 Spriano®, a Terranova brand, has been offering a wide range of instrumentation for the measurement of process variables, including pressure transmitters, level and temperature, used in the petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Safe smart pressure transmitters

The SST56 series offers intrinsically safe SMART pressure transmitters with Exia certification and SIL2 approval.

The transmitters can be configured locally via 4 push button and can display the measurement on the large LCD display, remotely via a universal Hand Held (HHT), or via PC.

The transmitters – complete with sealing diaphragm with wetted parts in SS AISI 316, Hastelloy C276, Tantalum, Monel and other special alloys – measure relative pressures with ranges from 0.022 to 1,000 bar and the pressure measuring element is a piezoresistive or ceramic sensor.

Technical details

This microprocessor transmitter has a wide range of values and the automatic compensation of the measurement for the entire temperature range. The nominal accuracy is less than 0.1%, including non-linearity, repeatability and hysteresis errors, and can be as low as 0.075% on request.

Also available in Ex-D explosion-proof version SST76, these transmitters are suitable for installations in environments with hostile atmospheres, allowing the measurement of relative, absolute or barometric pressure.

The most common applications are:

  • the measurement of the pressure of liquids, gases and vapors;
  • the measurement up to extremely high pressures (1000 bar) for upstream areas;
  • the pressure control of gas pipes;
  • the measurement of vacuum in food applications and autoclaves;
  • the measurement of the level in storage plants with remote display of the variables;
  • the measurement of the level of open tanks.

The production of diaphragm seals can instead be finished in AISI316, special alloys and gold to allow applications on corrosive fluids, at pressures over 400 bar and temperatures of 400°c.
