The latest launch by Horizon, 33 metre yacht Abaco

The 33 metre yacht Abaco has been launched by the Taiwanese yard Horizon. Sea trials have been successfully undertaken and the yacht is soon due for delivery. Custom designed and built for an experienced yachtsman from Germany who had already owned four other yachts by Horizon, Abaco features interior and exterior styling by Beiderbeck Designs.

Abaco is the second hull in the custom series built by Horizon, the first being Lady Gaga, launched in 2011. This all-GRP fast-planing yacht features a raised pilothouse and a 360-degree visibility from all levels. Key features on board include a large sundeck, fitted with aft deck sun loungers and a central dinette shaded by an electric sunroof.

A generous main saloon provides comfortable seating for up to 20 guests to starboard, and boasts a curved wood cabinetry to port. Alongside with the main saloon, two other entertainment areas are located on the main deck: a forward dining area and aft cockpit. Full-height windows allow for plenty of natural light in such spaces.

The yacht can accommodate up to six guests across three large en-suite staterooms, including the owner’s full-beam cabin located on the main deck, which features two walk-in wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom. The two guest cabins are on the lower deck: a VIP double to starboard and a twin cabin to port. A four-people staff  is accommodated in the crew quarters aft of the engine room.

The aft garage provides space enough to store a 5.1-metre tender, offering a lowering platform that can either be used as a swim platform or to launch the tender. A pair of 2,600hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesel engines power the yacht, allowing for an impressive top speed, while zero-speed stabilisers will ensure a peaceful night’s sleep at anchor.

The Taiwanese yard is also currently working on the first CC115 yacht, designed by Cor D. Rover and due for launch in 2018, and on the 30.33 metre E98 Do It Now, which is expected to debut at next month’s Palm Beach International Boat Show.
